The discipline of Tai Chi Chuan, considered a Civil Art before a Martial Art, is expressed in different forms, with its highest expression in the “Form.” It is a practice based on breathing, soft and gentle, which can be described as Meditation in Motion, where each participant works individually. Paired practice movements are also included, such as Fighting Form and Tui Shou.
The original “Form” of the Yang family consists of a sequence of movements that clearly demonstrate the principles of Yin and Yang—opening and closing, inhalation and exhalation—aimed at restoring personal balance and energy.
The course includes the learning of Yi Gong (structural work), Qi Gong (energy work), the 24 Taoist Exercises (guides for the Form), and the Form itself, a codified sequence of movements designed to improve the participant’s physical and mental well-being, as passed down by the Yang family.
