“Se débrouiller”

Understand and reproduce the sounds of the French language, and use standard phrases in everyday contexts. Describe oneself, one’s family environment, and one’s daily routine, as well as communicate in various situations to meet immediate needs.

Students are actively involved in the lesson through general questions used to break the ice and are continuously encouraged during the explanation of linguistic and grammatical structures.

Each lesson begins with a prompt introducing the day’s topic—linking vocabulary and grammar—and progresses through stages of explanation designed to engage students and elicit a positive response to the proposed learning activities.

The lesson activates the four core language-learning skills—written and oral comprehension and production—through active listening activities and guided exchanges.

Introduction of the day’s topic, both lexical and grammatical:
– Presentation of new vocabulary related to a specific theme
– Reading and listening activities with group correction aloud
– Presentation of basic grammatical and verbal structures, guided and supported by the instructor to activate prior knowledge useful for class exercises

Oral peer-to-peer practice using questions related to daily life. Throughout the lesson, the target language—French—is used, with support from the source language when necessary.
