Mattia Donati, a former student of Andrea Pellegrini, has evolved from a promising figure in Italian jazz into one of the leading exponents of Swing at national level.
A member of the orchestra led by Nico Gori—alongside whom he has recorded three albums as a singer and guitarist and performed throughout Italy, including at the Umbria Jazz Festival—and the son of artist Mauro Donati, he presents a repertoire ranging from the 1910s to the present day, including a number of rare pieces, performed with elegance and a strong sense of swing. Mattia Donati is also a composer of bossa nova, jazz, songs, and chamber music.
