A meeting dedicated to the figure of Giovanni Papini, widely regarded as the most prestigious name in Pescia’s basketball history, with the participation of former players who, together with him, entered top-level basketball. Papini, born in Pescia in 1951, experienced as a player the rise of Audace Pescia from Serie D to Serie B. As a coach, he is most closely associated with Pistoia Basket, where he also served as head coach in Serie A1, and he also worked in Trapani, Capo d’Orlando, Viterbo, and Parma, as well as in women’s basketball in Livorno and La Spezia, before his premature death in 2009.
