This Acoustic Trio is one of the most established ensembles in Italy dedicated to interpreting the work of De André. The performance retraces, through live execution, some of the most beautiful and significant songs by the late Genoese songwriter.
The Faber Band project was founded in 2002 on the initiative of musician Stefano Montagnani. Driven by a deep passion for the songs and poetry of Fabrizio De André, he brought together a group of outstanding musicians to offer a heartfelt musical tribute. To date, the project has included hundreds of concerts throughout Italy and has received widespread acclaim from both audiences and critics.
Stefano Montagnani is a literature teacher and musician, a graduate in guitar performance, and an interpreter and expert on De André’s work. He has explored this repertoire through study and philological research at the De André Study Centre of the University of Siena, where he completed his degree with distinction, as well as through an extensive concert activity that over the past twenty years has taken him to theatres, public squares, and venues across Italy. He has shared the stage, receiving their appreciation, with some of De André’s historic musicians and has performed in front of figures such as De André’s wife Dori Ghezzi and the intellectual Fernanda Pivano, a key supporter of the Genoese songwriter.
The collaboration with violinist Linda Leccese—an adaptable, refined musician with great sensitivity—and the talented bassist Matteo Tuci gave rise to the Acoustic Trio format, which revisits De André’s repertoire in a more essential, intimate, and equally passionate interpretation.
The aim of the performance is to embrace the songwriter’s entire body of work, performing songs selected across a broad chronological span, from the early years to the final albums, thus covering forty years of music, history, and life.
