In anticipation of the 140th anniversary of the publication of Carlo Collodi’s Le avventure di Pinocchio (February 1883), the Fondazione POMA Liberatutti opens a pre-celebration of the world-famous puppet with an exhibition by Pescia-born artist Domenico Mobilia, who has created fifteen woodcuts inspired by the novel.
The rich chromatic density of the woodcuts offers an engaging, dream-like experience. For this reason, the exhibition has been set up with minimal structure—only transparent methacrylate panels—allowing the creative act of Mobilia to stand alone, so that viewers may encounter the work in its essential form.
The catalogue of works has been published in calendar format, enabling the celebration to accompany the entirety of 2023.
