Monica Menchi

Actress and Director

Monica Menchi graduated from the “Silvio D’Amico” Academy of Dramatic Arts in Rome in 1991, beginning her career as a professional actress. She completed an advanced diploma for professional actors with the Teatro di Pisa and later studied Theater Dance with choreographer Micha Van Hoecke. She studied classical dance with Maestro Loris Gai, Claudio Mura, Maria Rosaria Di Sessa, Frederic Oliveri, and George Bodnarciuc.

In theater, she has worked with directors such as Mario Ferrero, Andrea Camilleri, Roberto Guicciardini, Angelo Savelli, Sergio Ciulli, Stefano Tamburini, Peter Selem, Nino Mangano, Francesco Brandi, Gabriele Tozzi, Cristina Pezzoli, Stefano De Sando, and Silvio Perone. In cinema, she has collaborated with Giuseppe Ferlito, Stefano Rho, Mirco Rocchi, and Leonardo Pieraccioni.

Her television work includes collaborations with directors Vittorio Gassman, Giulio Base (Don Matteo), Gabriele Mertes (Carabinieri 3), Vittorio Sindoni (Le ragazze di San Frediano, Una sera di ottobre), and Sigi Rothemund. For Radio Rai, she has worked with Pierfrancesco Listri, Luca Verdone, and Gabriele Parenti.

In 1999, she founded the Associazione Progetto Teatro, which promotes theater education in the community and produces theatrical works, directing numerous productions that have received prestigious awards. She taught Scenic Arts at the Mabellini Municipal School from 1996 to 2014.

She has received multiple theater awards, including the Grand Prix of Theater for her performance in La Vita Accanto, adapted from the novel by Maria Pia Veladiano and directed by Cristina Pezzoli. This work is currently on tour in Italy.
