Maria Salerno
Journalism Teacher
She has always found writing to be her primary means of expression. From a young age, she experimented with stories and novels until she discovered that journalism was her true path. Her field experience began at the age of 14, sending reports to the local newspaper La Sicilia on student occupations, street protests, and youth unrest. From that moment on, she never stopped.
Since 2005, she has been a professional journalist and currently covers news from the Valdinievole area for the newspaper Il Tirreno.
In 2017, she published Salute Negata, an investigative report on healthcare in Tuscany, with AB Edizioni. In 2022, she released Occidentalis Karma, a semi-serious pamphlet exploring the many distortions the New Age movement imposes on ancient spiritual concepts, adapting them more for convenience than for authentic understanding.
In recent years, she has focused on educational outreach through school projects, journalism courses, training in journalistic writing, media sociology, and seminars and workshops on spiritual topics.
She holds a degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Palermo.
