Lara Conama Mumenthaler

Swiss by birth and Sicilian by heritage, she grew up in the Chianti hills in an environment that nurtured her passion for art. She first studied sculpture, specialising in jewellery-making, before moving into photography.

During university, she discovered the world of the photobook and deepened her practice through workshops that explored the entire process, from editorial concept to handcrafted binding.

In 2020, she founded Lotta Bindery, a studio dedicated to artistic bookbinding, and later Lotta Books, an independent publisher focused on photobooks by emerging authors. She also works as a photographer for galleries and artists, documenting and translating their work into images.
