Assedio is a cubic structure created by Francesco Campanoni and Maurizio Misiano, who inhabit its interior. Enclosed within this box, the two artists remain invisible, separated from the public by a thin membrane. It is precisely on this boundary surface that they have chosen to place the most diverse elements: video art, micro-installations, and theatre. A personal reinterpretation of the wunderkammer, where it is not the content but the “container” that seeks to evoke wonder. The exterior features an apparent thickness, through which viewers can visually access other small, surreal worlds. The form of the work invites observers to follow their gaze with their bodies, moving around the structure to encounter new visions, leading finally to the overall impression of a scene resembling a siege.
